Debunking Union lies about Right-to-Work Laws

There is a lie being spread across America by unions that right-to-work laws reduce wages. “Unions chant right-to-work for less!” to intimidate lawmakers from supporting right-to-work (RTW) laws, which give people the choice to opt out of union membership and dues. These laws have been passed in 25 of our 50 states.

Non-RTW states have a significantly higher percentage of union members. This means less money for union bosses. No wonder they hate RTW laws.

On August 3, 2015, Katy Grimes reported in the FlashReport that the California Agricultural Labor Relations Board (ALRB) Visalia Regional Director Silas Shawver is leaving his post, bound for a job in another part of the state government. 

Shawver’s been the main prosecutor of the Gerawan farm workers in Fresno who have been working for years to decertify the United Farm Workers (UFW).

Recently the CWF was quoted exclusively in the Washignton Times. Jeffrey Scott Shapiro quoted our executive director, Matt Patterson, in his piece, "United Farm Workers, founded by Cesar Chavez, in standoff with Gerawan Farming" that was published Wednesday, August 19, 2015. 

Shapiro quoted Patterson in part as saying, "these workers know what they’re doing. They don’t want to give their money to the unions, and even more important, it’s about freedom. The union wants 3 percent of their pay.”

On August 3, 2015, Connor Wolf of the Daily Caller reported on the ongoing legal battle for the local right-to-work option in Kentucky. Wolf quoted our executive director, Matt Patterson, in the piece.
