The Center for Worker Freedom and Americans for Tax Reform urge Virginia voters to vote yes on Question 1 and enshrine right-to-work in the state constitution.

Virginia has been a right-to-work state by statute (§ 40.1-59) since 1947. Question 1 on the November 8^th state ballot asks the voters whether the state constitution should be amended to guarantee workers have a choice regarding unionization. The question reads:

Work for Progress is a nonprofit organization located in Denver, Colorado that hires individuals for nonprofit progressive groups (groups that want to “fight global warming” and “get big money out of elections”).

It also runs campaigns for organizations like Fair Share Action and Environment America Action Fund. Since 2008, its staff has knocked on over 3 million doors for candidates such as President Barack Obama (D), Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA).

The Chattanooga, Tennessee Volkswagen plant has been a union battleground for the past several years.

In 2013 the United Auto Workers (UAW) union aimed to unionize the Volkswagen plant, and anti-union workers faced off with them in a campaign for the future of the plant.

Matt Patterson, Executive Director of the Center for Worker Freedom, had an article published in Forbes on October 18, 2016, about how union leaders make much higher salaries than their members:

The planned Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) strike for October 11, 2016, thankfully was called off with a last minute tentative agreement with the Chicago Board of Education on October 10.

Court strikes down Pennsylvania Governor’s union give away

On February 27, 2015, Pennsylvania Governor Thomas Wolf issued Executive Order No. 2015-05, creating a new position to represent the state’s homecare workers.

Homecare workers are individuals who care for people with disabilities, usually loved ones, in their homes. The state calls them direct care workers or DCWs, and the governor’s new position was called Direct Care Worker Representative.

The Department of Labor just recently issued a new rule that more than doubles the overtime salary threshold from $23,660 to $47,476. The deadline for compliance is currently December 1.
