The Center for Worker Freedom's Executive Director Matt Patterson wrote an article for Forbes on Friday November 20, 2015 about Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's plan to build a government-run casino. This is an attempt by Chicago to fix the extreme deficit they are running in their public pension system. 

Patterson describes why Mayor Emanuel wants to build a government-run casino and points out the various problems with this destructive idea. One of Patterson's points is: 

"...whatever revenues a government-owned casino in downtown Chicago would bring would be offset by construction and operating costs (which would run into the tens of millions easily) and the displacement and/or destruction of existing businesses in that space."
