Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) and the Center for Worker Freedom (CWF) are proud to support Rep. Jody Hice’s soon-to-be introduced Federal Employee Accountability Act.

This bill would restrict unionized federal employees from conducting union business during work hours, an outrageous practice known as “official time.”

The U.S. Office of Personal Management reports that in merely one year, workers spent almost 3.4 million hours on “official time,” wasting about $157 million taxpayer dollars.

By limiting this wasteful activity, The Federal Employee Accountability Act could save taxpayers an estimated $785 million over five years and $1.57 billion over ten.

ATR and CWF are proud to join with a coalition of allied organizations, including Competitive Enterprise Institute and American Conservative Union, in urging members of Congress to support this bill.
